Create your own Opportunity Query Metric to use on your Dashboards to find Number of Opportunities.

When creating a new Opportunity Query Metric you will have to complete:

  • Name
  • Opportunity Query
  • Lead Query
  • Date

Opportunity Query

Only opportunity properties may be used in the filter. For example, "opportunity_status_type:won" will only show opportunities with Status = Won

Lead Query

The query of lead properties is the same search query you´d use in Close.com UI to narrow down or search your leads (more on this here)

For example, you could filter Opportunities that are created on Leads that were assigned to a certain Sales Representative using: custom.Owner:"Gob Bluth"

Date:

In the Date field, you have to choose the Opportunity Date you will then use on your Dashboards to filter the queries. You will be able to choose from:

  • Opportunity Date Created
  • Opportunity Date Won
  • Opportunity Date Updated

Example 1:

Let's say you want to see how many Opportunities were created per month (or per week or per day)

In this case, you will leave both Queries empty since you want all Opportunities created

Now that you have created your metric, you can use it on your Dashboards where you can create Tiles and Tables

Adding a New Tile

If you want to find the number of Opportunities created this month, you have to choose that metric and filter the date accordingly

Example 2:

Let's say you want to see how many Opportunities were created per month on Leads that were assigned to Gob

Example 3:

Let's say you want to see how many Opportunities with Status Won were created per month on Leads that were assigned to Gob

In this case, this metric will be filtered by the creation date of the opportunity and not by the date the opportunity status changed to won. So you will be able to see how many Opportunities were created on each month that are won today on Leads assigned to Gob

Example 4:

Let's say you want to see how many Opportunities closed to Won per month on Leads that were assigned to Gob

In this case, this metric will be filtered by the Won date of the opportunity and not by the date the opportunity was created. So you will be able to see how many Opportunities were converted to won on each month on Leads assigned to Gob

Adding a New Table

In a table, you can add N number of metrics and group them by day, week, month, quarter or year

If you want to see on a month to month basis, for last quarter, how many Opportunities were created, how many of them were assigned to Gob, how many of them are Won today and how many Opportunities assigned to Gob were converted to won, you could create the following table:

As you can see on the table above, there were six Opportunities created on October 19, three of them were assigned to Gob, two of them are Won to this date, and also on October 19, one Opportunity was converted to Won.

So, each Metric will be filtered by the date chosen when creating the Metric:

Opportunities Created - Date the Opportunity was created

Opportunities Created Assigned to Gob - Date the Opportunity was created

Opportunities Won Created Assigned to Gob - Date the Opportunity was created

Opportunities Won Closed Assigned to Gob - Date the Opportunity was changed to Won (Won Date)

When exporting your Dashboard, you can see the exact search queries Smart Reporting is using on each data point:
